The three-day extravaganza kicks off Thursday, Oct. 10 with Daytona State College's School of Photography Alumni Reunion in Photography Hall from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Mr. and Ms. DSC Pageant at 6 p.m. in the L. Gale Lemerand Center (auditions Sept. 11, 1-4 p.m.).
Friday's activities begin with the Alumni Awards at 8:30 a.m. in the Conference Center (by invitation only) - awards are presented in four categories - Alumni of the Year, Distinguished Faculty/Staff Alumni, Young Alumni Excellence Award, and the Margaret Crumley Award for Distinguished Achievement in Science. At 10 a.m. in the Hosseini Center's Madorsky Theater, be prepared to go from beginner to all-star with a one-hour LinkedIn 101 workshop presented by LaTonya Polk who serves as manager for DSC Career Services. Friday also features the Falcon Challenge Ping-Pong Tournament from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Gaming Lounge located in the L. Gale Lemerand Student Center, and concludes with Movie and S'mores at 7 p.m. with an outdoor movie presentation, free pizza and adult-supervised fire pits.
Featuring something for everyone, Homecoming 2019 culminates with a full-day of activities on Saturday, Oct. 12 beginning at 8 a.m. with the 4th Annual 5K Family Fun Walk/Run sponsored by Dunkin' Donuts, Follett and Hawkeye Brothers - start/finish at the DSC Soccer Stadium - $30 entry donation benefiting student scholarships; from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. - Car and Truck Show sponsored by Daytona's Garage - $10 vehicle registration fee, trophies awarded to stock and modified vehicles plus President's Choice.
