The UCAP School is the only middle school in Rhode Island that partners with school districts to identify and help those students who are most at risk of dropping out. The school uses a unique, accelerated, personalized model to help each student catch up academically to their grade level and build character and self-esteem. UCAP helps them get back on a path to success.

This year marks two very special milestones. The first is that Rob Deblois, the founder and director of The UCAP School, will retire at the end of this school year. Rob founded UCAP in 1989, so that means the second milestone is UCAP’s 30th Anniversary!

That calls for a celebration!

Rob and UCAP will be honored on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 5pm here at the school. Trinity Rep's Joe Wilson will serve as Emcee and Auctioneer Extraordinaire!

Proceeds from the event, which will include beer, wine and hors d’ouevres, live and silent auctions, and a short program, support our Beyond U programs. These wide-ranging enrichment activities give our students the extra academic support they need after school, as well as team sports, arts programs, STEM activities and cultural experiences afterschool, on weekends, and during the summer – experiences that help them learn about the possibilities that exist in the world beyond their inner-city neighborhoods.
