Please drop by anytime from 2-7 pm on Friday, November 15 and see Furnishing Hope's work in action! We'll show how we assemble our "Starter Sets" for families transitioning from homeless and domestic violence shelters and demo our online furniture bank "shopping" platform. Ask your questions about the challenges for families trying to relaunch their lives after homelessness, and how Furnishing Hope works with a network of wonderful partners -- local social service agencies, businesses, and individual volunteers -- to make a difference in the lives of families starting over.
Furnishing Hope of Massachusetts is a Cambridge-based non-profit dedicated to providing support for families transitioning from homeless and domestic violence shelters into stable housing by providing them with the basic furniture and household goods they need to create a home. Founded in 2012, Furnishing Hope serves communities across the Greater Boston area via partnerships with a network of social service agency partners. Staffed almost entirely by volunteers, they collect and refurbish gently-used furniture and home goods, supplemented with purchased items where needed, and distribute them to families in need.
The Furnishing Hope Open House is a great opportunity to meet Furnishing Hope staff, Board members, and volunteers and ask questions. Please come and help us celebrate the community support that makes Furnishing Hope’s work possible – partner organizations, individual volunteers, and local businesses – and hear how you can be involved!
Light refreshments will be served.
