Eight interesting properties and their unique histories will be showcased during Honor America Days weekend including three buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This year’s Tour includes one of Rome’s beautiful churches, a city cultural landmark, and five impressive residential properties including one being presented for a second year by popular demand.
Tour guests will not only enjoy beautiful surroundings while learning about the histories of each building, but will also gain a greater appreciation for our community’s significant impact on local and national history.
Tour tickets may be purchased at the Rome Historical Society, or at any of the featured buildings on the day of the tour. Tickets may also be purchased in advance from any of our community business partners in Rome: Brenda’s Natural Foods, Darkroom Unlimited, Engelbert’s Jewelers, Hummel’s Office Plus, Jervis Public Library, La Belle Vie at 311, and Olney’s Flowers. Tickets are $20 per person for general admission, and $15 for current Rome Historical Society members purchasing tickets at the Society. Patrons may visit each property at their leisure and in the order they choose.
Many thanks to our corporate sponsors for their financial support of this event: Adirondack Bank, Adirondack Financial Services, Rome Sentinel Company, and The Loiacono Firm.
