Our favorite and beloved Dr. Seuss characters are brought to life in this whimsical and magical musical written by Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. With the story narrated by perhaps the most notable Seuss character of all, the Cat in the Hat (Teghan Reed), we follow Horton the Elephant (Spencer Marfy) on a journey from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, and then to a speck of dust that contains the world of the Whos. Here, Horton meets Jojo (Naomi Walters), a Who that is sent off to military school for thinking too many "thinks". Horton faces a double challenge - not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he also is entrusted to guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird (Sarah Wagner). Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz (Chelsea Young) never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant in this vibrant story perfect for the child in all of us.
