Her Song Rescues Victims of Human Trafficking here on the First Coast. Florida ranks #3 in the nation for human trafficking, even more shockingly, Duval County ranks #5 in Florida as a hub for sex trafficking activity.
Over the last six years, Her Song has rescued more than 500 women on the First Coast from a life of abuses inconceivable to most of us – abduction, forced prostitution, physical and psychological torment, drug addiction and unbearable emotional trauma.
Trafficking victims need a full program of wraparound services to ensure success and healing. Traditional shelters are often short-term solutions. Her Song currently only have 5 beds for victims, and the need for critical care persist in our city and nation. Her Song currently have a long wait list of victims that are in need of care and housing. To be able to help more victims Her Song needs to expand. This year event is for raising funds to be able to build The Perfect Home for survivors and victims of Human Trafficking in Jacksonville. Her Song is dedicated to providing healing homes for young ladies who have been victimized through human trafficking in Jacksonville, Florida. A safe, stable home with care focused on restoring health to the whole person is essential in their long term recovery and success. Her Song is currently seeking property to create a refuge for healing these precious lives. Her Song's ideal home includes; 10+ acres with a buffer from city life, and city noise. Minimum of 6 acres of high ground for adding new buildings at a later date. Potentially with a structure that could be rehabbed for now while they raise funds to build their flagship residence and offices/barn onsite.
